This fully illustrated survey of 30 of China's most exciting photographers under 30 covers the spectrum of photographic practice, from hi-gloss fantasy to edgy street-side documentary. In so doing it reveals a new generation of young artists, free from ideology and immersed in the economic and cultural changes that have transformed their country over the past 20 years. Essays by Prof Gu Zheng of Fudan University and Ou Ning, co-founder with Cao Fei of the Alternative Archive introduce the book.
